University Union College Catering is a large food operation. We cater over 7500 meals a day to ten University colleges, supply food from our large diverse Central Production Kitchen to twelve cafes, and to our busy conference and event operations on campus.

**_The role/Te mahi_**

We have a permanent vacancy for a Kitchen Assistant within the Arana College kitchen.

This position is responsible for making sure the kitchen is well maintained to the appropriate levels of cleanliness and dishes are cleaned in a timely manner, in accordance with our HACCP program. Other duties include meal service and some food preparation.

A high level of competency, enthusiasm, and the ability to work as part of a team is important. Previous experience in the hospitality industry would be an advantage and the ability to help develop a mutual respect between customers and staff.

This is a permanent, full-time (40 hours per week), semester time only (31 weeks per year) position.

Hours are on a rostered basis and require some weekend days.
