Crown Law provides legal advice and representation services to the government in matters affecting the executive government, particularly in the areas of criminal, public law and Treaty of Waitangi. Crown Law's vision is to provide collaborative, indispensable legal services.

The System Leadership Team is based in the Attorney-General Group and assists the Solicitor-General fulfil her system leadership role for lawyers providing the Crown with legal services. We leverage the collective strength of the government's 850+ lawyers, support those lawyers to do their jobs in agencies, and encourage decision-makers to make better use of their lawyers and legal resources.

**Mo te Turanga | About the Role**

The System Leadership Team at Crown Law are looking for an experienced government lawyer ( ideally with 5+ years post-qualification experience) to join us, working as Crown Counsel on a full time, permanent basis.

This role will work with the Government Legal Network to support the provision of high quality legal services to government through:

- Centralising legal resources: identify or create common legal processes, tools, templates, and best practice.
- Knowledge management: identify shared legal categories or topics and develop a knowledge base for each. Build and develop this knowledge base by drawing on resources and consulting with experts from across the GLN; identify gaps and work to fill them; facilitate the sharing of legal opinions or legal resources from this knowledge base.
- Use and extend the GLNOnline platform (Sharepoint) to share resources and knowledge with government lawyers.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Engage with stakeholders: work with experts and stakeholders, including Chief Legal Advisors, to understand their needs.

**Mou** **| About You**

**You will have**:

- Experience as a government lawyer (ideally with 5+ years post-qualification experience).
- Strong relationship management skills and a wide network. Expertise in the collation and sharing of legal knowledge.
- A commitment to supporting strong and enduring Maori Crown relationships.
- The ability to deliver high quality legal advice, templates and processes.
- The ability to obtain and hold a practicing certificate in Aotearoa.

**Location: Te Whanganui-a-Tara |Wellington**
- This role is Wellington based and located next to Wellington bus and train station.

- A starting salary range of between $138,615 and $159,615. The appointing salary will be based on skills and experience;
