**Kōrero mō te tūranga ' About the role**

The team leader works closely with the operations manager and clinical leader to deliver high quality services across the regions. The team leader takes an inclusive approach that promotes transparency and shared understanding with rangatahi, whanau, regional partners, within the team and our wider sector. The team leader will be committed to continuous improvement, relationship development and improving the experience of rangatahi and whanau who use our service.

A key priority of the role is to improve outcomes for Māori and Pacific peoples.

The team leader will have overall responsibility for the service in ensuring that day to day clinical, administrative, financial and human resource management of the service are carried out efficiently.

**Mō tō mātou rōpū ' About our team**

The Regional Rangatahi Adolescent Inpatient Service (RRAIS) is a 12 bedded mental health acute unit that provides inpatient treatment for adolescents aged 13 to 17 years who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness. RRAIS is one of three adolescent inpatient services in New Zealand. It is a regional service for the lower North Island providing for adolescents from the Wellington region up to and including Gisborne.

RRAIS is a developing team who value each other and the bicultural focus of the team. The team is multidisciplinary and is supported by a Kaumatua and a Kuia, the team uses a Maori health model to guide their practice. The team is committed to workforce development, continuous learning and service improvement. The team work collaboratively with whanau, the wider DHB and other stakeholders to provide quality culturally safe services for rangatahi. The team is based at the Kenepuru hospital campus.
