Our Interventional
Radiology Medical Imaging Technologists (IR MITs) work in a
multidisciplinary team working alongside Radiology Nurses and Interventional
Radiologists. We have 3 IR suites, a Hybrid OT and a CT Biopsy scanner, and an
Ultrasound Biopsy room.
IR uses Imaging guidance
to perform procedures/operations on patients from all demographics and services
from within the Canterbury DHB. We are also the South Island centre for Stroke
Clot Retrieval.
We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an
Interventional MIT to join us at our brand-new Waipapa Hospital in Christchurch.
You - ll be working in our experienced team where IR training will be
supported. The quickly expanding technology and procedures in this area means we
need someone who can think on their feet and is proactive about
upskilling.
This position will see you
working 20hrs per week, Monday - Friday days shifts ranging between 0800
- 1800. Participation in on-call will also be required.

**will be responsible for**:

- Learning and training on a CT

Biopsy/Interventional scanner, a monoplane and Biplane IR systems and in the
Hybrid Operating IR system;
- Taking responsibility for any equipment you are
working with and reporting any break downs or equipment issues to the service
engineers;
- You will be a radiation advocate for patients
and visiting staff.
Your skills will

**include**:

- Registered

Medical Imaging Technologist with current Annual Practicing Certificate with 2 years experience preferred;
- Training and
experience in interventional radiology is advantageous, however training
will be supported to upskill in this area;
- Experience in
CT scanning will be highly valued, with additional training to be
provided;
- The ability to relate to a broad variety of
people from varying backgrounds and age ranges;
- The ability to work cooperatively as part of a multi-disciplinary
team and cope under pressure.You
