Join a leading NZ education organisation as a Senior Network Engineer. This role will lead technological network change having a real impact to the clients it supports.
An exciting opportunity to join an organisation that is supporting learning and education for everyone in New Zealand. This Senior Network Engineer role will help lead technological change and improvements, leading to better support the organisation and the services it delivers.
In this role you will utilise your Network Engineer technical expertise to design and build network systems to support this organisation with its growth and digital transformation. This role offers exciting growth opportunities to expand on leadership experience with the continued changes that this organisation undertakes.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manage ICT infrastructure including virtualisation, cloud-based technologies, networks, servers and associated hardware and software.
- Work with the leadership team, other members, and vendors to define business ICT Architecture requirement and goals.
- Gauge the effectiveness of existing infrastructure; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
- Perform architecture design and security, ensuring ICT systems are up to standard and in accordance with disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Consult with Vendors, Outsourcers, Contractors, and Stakeholders to deploy, secure, maintain and optimise system related products and services.
- Lead/Support network operation projects.
- 5+ years IT experience with related experience managing network operations groups, network operations services.
- Azure, Cisco Meraki, Microsoft, Microsoft Defender expertise and knowledge.
- Experience leading teams and colleagues to complete projects.
- Project management skills.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
- Understanding and openness to increase knowledge, understanding, and use of Te Reo and āhuatanga Māori throughout the organisation.
