Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a high performing National Field Support Manager to join our Downer team. The purpose of this role is to lead the team responsible for the end-to-end management and coordination of field support services nationally.

Reporting to the National Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include, collaborating closely with Field staff customers and internal delivery teams, leading and motivating Field Support team members, ensuring the required financial outcomes for Operations & Maintenance are met, and improving end-to-end work processes.

This national role (can be based in either Auckland or Wellington) comes with the responsibility of managing things remotely with travel as and when required. If you are a structured leader with high motivation, a willingness to manage in a matrix environment, passion, and drive to deliver results then this is the ideal role for you.

Key objectives for this role include:

- Developing a culture of intense customer focus in the team, as well as a passion for end-to-end process excellence.
- Continuously identifying and implementing opportunities to work smarter e.g. through simplifying work processes, deploying technology where feasible, and investing in the skills of our people.
- Facilitate the feasibility, business casing, and stakeholder prioritisation of a programme of continuous improvement initiatives transforming field support capability and delivering to Downer’s strategic plan.
- Develop and enhance a centre of field support excellence - reduce process variance, provide accurate process documentation, agree and communicate clear lines of accountability.

We are looking for someone with the following experience & skills:

- Proven experience in leading improvement initiatives.
- At least three years’ experience managing multiple project resources including end users and senior stakeholders.
- Well organised and disciplined
- Effectiveness as a communicator (both written and verbal)
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Willing to make decisions
- Confidence, persuasiveness verbal fluency
- Drive, energy & enthusiasm
- Able to identify and organise resolution of problems
- Commercial acumen
