**Job Summary**:
- Accountable for recruiting, training, mentor and managing the local field sales team, developing the skill level of the talent pool in preparation for first level promotion.
- Delivering our complete business plan for each account and retail environment nationally. Adopting and driving excellence in execution in key 6P elements.
- Delivering required territory penetration frequency, exploring efficiencies and opportunities to grow in effective coverage.
- Account management of independent vet buying groups.
- Responsible for setting monthly priorities for regular reporting of important metric results to the wider team.
**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Training and Assessment & People Management**
- Management of all full time field staff in the national operation, who cover the vet and pet channel universe.
- Providing assessment and feedback to direct reports on a consistent basis that assists in developing performance levels in execution of our business plan at store and clinic level.
- Crafting, supporting and supervising a comprehensive development action plan for high potential territory managerscraftedd to strengthen the required proficiencies needed to achieve first level promotion.
- PM&D maintained for all TMs aligned to field sales group Individual Objectives.
- Clear direction for low performers.
- Handle the Customer Development Analyst, giving direction on reports and tracking needed by both field team and head office staff

- Visible skill levels in local teams, sharing initiatives and level of talent pool promoted.
- Current and active Individual Development Plans
**Territory design, coverage and frequency**
- Handle territories to ensure maximum efficient coverage of all profiled stores, regularly reviewing to ensure territories are current and relevant.
- Search for growth potential/opportunities in coverage, new stores/markets etc.

- Purveyance Coverage Tracking
- Priority Coverage by Retail Environment
**Distribution: Speed To Market and Baseline**
- Deliver NPD Speed to Market targets in each retail environment, planning and supervising progress nationally, by account and by territory
- Supervising and taking remedial action for base distribution levels appropriate to store grade defined by Customer Development.
**How/KPI**:
- NPD STM tracked in Purveyance vs. targets by account.
- Baseline vs. priority ranking in Independent stores supervised in Purveyance
**Promotional execution, In-store sales target delivery**
- Planning and supervising the complete execution of the promotional plan by account, targeting a 100% compliance level for each priority event, with 100% in-clinic training on Health Team Members.
- Owning GTN budget, setting national promotions for independents, supervising promotional uptake, working with analyst to forecast and review promotions ongoing.
- Setting monthly priorities for National independents, working with CDM to share and ensure compliance on Key Account priorities.
- Participation and input into monthly marketing, sales and finance meetings.

- Promotional Planner, Weekly Sales Report, Monthly & Yearly activity plans.
**Account Management**
- Manage the relationships, compliance and joint business plans with independent clinics and groups and pet stores that have contracts in place.
**How/KPI**:
- Total Spend, compliance and review process
**Education/ Experience Requirements**
- Basic qualifications include: Tertiary qualified
- Preferred qualifications include: Business or Industry related.
- Vet or pet channel experience preferable
**Encouraged Areas of Skills**
- Sales management and sales experience in an FMCG or nutrition company
- Demonstrate a track record in achieving targets and handling budgets
- Ability to work in a team environment, collaborating with others to meet customer needs while achieving Company goals
