We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Policy Advisor to join the Communications Policy team, at a large and well-established government organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex policy challenges and make a real difference for Aotearoa by increasing connectivity and growing our digital economy.

Working within a team of dedicated policy professionals, you'll be part of a supportive culture that focusses on giving people the opportunities they need to stretch and grow in their policy careers.

**Key responsibilities**:

- formulate high-quality policy advice for a range of stakeholders and projects
- lead complex policy projects within the Communications Infrastructure sector
- develop and maintain strong relationships with telecommunications sector stakeholders and international counterparts
- contribute to the ongoing funding of telecommunications infrastructure and the regulatory settings that underpin how the telecommunications market functions
- ensure policy development aligns with Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and supports partnership with Māori
- work collaboratively with the Commerce Commission and other teams within the branch, such as Radio Spectrum Policy and Digital Policy.

**Skills & Experience**:

- proven experience in leading complex policy projects within central government
- capability in working with Ministers, senior public service officials, and internal and external stakeholders
- strong stakeholder relationship building, influencing, and engagement skills
- passion for leading and coaching others to develop their policy expertise
- knowledge of the telecommunications sector (preferred).
