Do you want to prevent crime and harm, and contribute to making New Zealand (NZ) the safest country? As an intelligence professional in the NZ Police this will be your focus every day.

NOCG Intelligence Team supports Police leaders and officers to prevent crime and harm through exceptional policing. Our mahi is used to inform deployment of resources, understand the criminal environment and crime problems, and facilitate evidence-based action and prevention.

As an Intelligence Analyst, you will demonstrate professional curiosity, an adaptive approach to set tasks and the ability to provide insight and foresight on a range of complex problems and issues. You will use your critical thinking and team-focused approach to support a positive and productive team culture that is focused on service delivery excellence.

Your willingness to get out and talk to people, and critically and thoughtfully engage with what you find, will enhance your understanding of the required Intelligence contribution to ensure positive outcomes.

- Proactively identify emerging or escalating trends.
- Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop a high standard of written reports/presentations and provide clear and concise verbal briefings appropriate to a range of audiences.
- Lead and collaborate on projects and group analysis.
- Effectively manage competing priorities and demands to maintain quality of work under strict timeframes.
- Develop and maintain a wide range of positive relationships (internal and external).
- Lead by example with a committed, positive attitude towards teamwork and professional development.

**Whakaritenga motuhake | Special requirements**
- Hold the NZ Diploma in Intelligence Analysis (NZDIA) or equivalent or able to complete relevant modules early in employment.
- Hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline. (preferable)
- You may occasionally be required to work outside of set work hours and alternative locations for operational reasons. Shift work may be required to meet operational demand.
- The role is office based within the specified location.

The minimum criteria for this level of national security clearance is:
NZ Citizen who has resided continuously in NZ for the last **10** years, or:

- A Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in NZ for the last **10** years, or
- A citizen of or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries **for the last 10** **years**: Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, or United States of America, and has a background that can be verified by the NZSIS.
