Mō te tūnga | About the role
The Money Laundering Team Intelligence Analyst will support Financial Crime Group leaders and operational staff to prevent crime and harm through exceptional policing in the field of Financial Crime and in particular Money Laundering. Our mahi is used to identify opportunities to prevent harm on our roads, in our homes and communities, and to keep our people safe.
As an Intelligence Analyst, you will demonstrate professional curiosity, an adaptive approach to set tasks and the ability to provide insight and foresight on a range of complex problems and issues. You will use your critical thinking and team-focused approach to support a positive and productive team culture that is focused on service delivery excellence.
Your willingness to get out and talk to people, and critically and thoughtfully engage with what you find, will enhance your understanding of the required Intelligence contribution to ensure positive outcomes for the Financial Crime Group.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Support supervisors and team members with intelligence products and analytical input during covert, complex electronic investigations.
- Proactively identify emerging or escalating trends in crime, crashes, and community reassurance.
- Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop a high standard of written reports/presentations and provide clear and concise verbal briefings appropriate to a range of audiences.
- Lead and collaborate on projects and group analysis.
- Effectively manage competing priorities and demands to maintain quality of work under strict timeframes.
- Develop and maintain a wide range of positive relationships (internal and external).
- Lead by example with a committed, positive attitude towards teamwork and professional development.
- Champion diverse worldviews, different perspectives, and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, identifying opportunities to reflect these in Intelligence products

Whakaritenga motuhake | Special requirements
- New Zealand or Australian citizenship, or a permanent NZ resident
- Successful applicants must reside in Auckland or must be willing to relocate. The role is based at 323 Great South Road, Ellerslie, Auckland
- Shift work may be required to meet operational demand
- Hold the NZ Diploma in Intelligence Analysis (NZDIA) or equivalent or able to complete NZDIA modules early in employment
- Hold a full driver license or be able to complete early in employment
This role is set at Individual Contributor level, this means your key purpose is “to deliver or enable others to deliver Our Business”.

Utu ā-tau | Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $87,306 and $91,353 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
