**Key Elements To The Role**
- Shape our communities across New Zealand, providing sustainable transport planning and transport engineering (including network and road safety) consultancy services
- Support the delivery of transformational sustainable transport and land-use planning projects, while learning from some of the best in our industry
- Create designs in multiple CAD software packages for use with BIM
- Produce drawings that can communicate design concepts to engineering and non-engineering audiences
- Work with colleagues from a range of disciplines including our design, infrastructure, and planning teams
- Develop your career and technical skills in a multi-disciplinary consulting firm

**Te kāinga rua | The Opportunity**

Get involved with developing the design of Transport infrastructure to enable all modes of travel to be facilitated including active modes and public transport. It is the chance to be part of improving road safety, enhance connectivity, and make real improvements for our people and communities.

Road design is no longer just about designing for cars we need skilled practitioners who can design for all modes from freight to micro mobility. We need to be able to design the right infrastructure that can meet travel needs but also not negatively impact the sustainable future of New Zealand.

We lead projects of all sizes for a diverse group of clients and work as an integrated team of over 70 transport planners, designers traffic engineers, road safety, transport modelers, ITS and modes experts operating from Beca locations throughout New Zealand and Australia.

In this role, you will have plenty of scope for success with wide client exposure and working with our technical experts, providing you with extensive career and professional development opportunities.

Overall, you can expect to get involved with projects that will require you to:

- Plan, design and implement transport projects
- Analyse data and information, and compile analysed data and information into reports and proposals, as they relate to transport planning and engineering

Aligned with the level of the role, we envision that the base salary component will be in the region of NZ$75,000 - NZ$100,000, depending on skills and experience. The role is full time and permanent, with minimum guaranteed hours of 40 a week.

**Ko wai koe | About you**

Our transport designers come from a broad range of backgrounds and professions. You will have at least 3 years’ relevant experience working in transport planning with medium to large scale projects, ideally in a consulting environment. You will also have excellent communication skills and a broad understanding of business case writing and transport assessments. Our current portfolio of work includes a wide variety of transport planning and traffic engineering projects.

A tertiary qualification in civil engineering, planning, urban development, or transport planning related disciplines would be an advantage, but is not necessary with sufficient relevant experience.
