**About the opportunity**:
Our Waikanae client is seeking a Planner to join their team of land development professionals They have been operating for 20+ years and are a trusted advisor in land development throughout the Wellington region. **Role description**:
You will be responsible for guiding the planning and development process for various land development projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial sites.

**Responsibilities could include**:

- Develop land use plans, zoning regulations, and other planning documents for land development projects.
- Analyze site conditions and constraints, including natural features, topography, soils, and infrastructure.
- Conduct market research and demographic analysis to determine the best use of the land.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other design professionals to develop comprehensive site plans and design solutions.
- Coordinate with government agencies and stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and community involvement.
- Monitor the progress of development projects to ensure compliance with design specifications and project schedules.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients, contractors, and project team members.

**This role will suit someone with all or some of the following background/experience/qualities**:

- Bachelor's degree in Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field
- 2 or more years of experience in land development planning
- Knowledge of zoning and land use regulations, as well as planning principles and practices
- Experience with planning software
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid New Zealand driver's license
