Mō te tūranga | About the Role

Join this growing team and provide support to the wider business as part of the payroll function in a Senior Payroll partnering position. This role will align to a business function which will allow you to carve a spot within the unit to support their Payroll needs working alongside our HR Business Partners and Business Unit Managers. This will be done through working on a variety of opportunities to help ensure our employee experience is front and centre.- Collaborate with your internal customers to develop an understanding of business requirements and how they align with payroll processes.- Management of the day-to-day payroll administration, maintenance, reporting and operations for your business units- Manage, organise and plan for the fortnightly payroll, allowing sufficient time for review of inputs and variance reporting- On a roster basis, run the payroll processing steps on a Monday and Wednesday for the fortnightly pay- Champion great customer service; build empathetic, value add and trusted relationships in all interactions.- Identify and resolve day-to-day payroll issues through root cause analysis, and plan corrections with appropriate stakeholder engagement throughout- Take ownership for proactively managing risk, escalating appropriately and in accordance with Westpac requirements- Ensure all aspects of payroll operations comply with relevant legislation, agreements, policies, controls and audit requirements- Provide guidance and mentoring to Payroll team members, uplifting capability, elevating performance and promoting operational competency- Provide backup for and technical support to the Payroll Team Leader for accounts reconciliation, Payday filing, statutory returns, and super scheme requirements

- 5+ years payroll experience with end-to-end payroll processing- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office- Relatable approach across various levels and cultures- Experience in a corporate environment- Systems knowledge - CHRIS21 & Workday experience desirable- Payroll reporting and analytics experience- Participation in continuous improvement initiatives- Genuine team player- Excellent interpersonal skills- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy- Analytical thinker and problem solver- An aptitude for self-development- Trusted to do the right thing

This will suit a Senior Payroll professional who is up for the challenge and likes to work at pace, but can ensure accuracy, data integrity and strong working relationships throughout.
