Group Fitness Team Leader

Our Recreation, Sports and Events teams are hiring now for a Group Fitness Team Leader at Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre, our newest facility._

**About the role | Ko te mahi nei**

The role of the Group Fitness Team Leader involves leading the delivery of high-quality group fitness services tailored to meet customer needs. Other duties include:

- Work alongside the Group Fitness Manager to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality group fitness programmes in a safe and welcoming environment. This includes both freestyle and pre-choreographed classes that encourage ongoing participation and well-being.
- Support the development and delivery of our digital group fitness offerings, creating more opportunities for our community to stay active, connected, and engaged—both within our facilities and beyond.
- Lead the way in delivering a customer experience that is positive, inclusive, and empowering by upholding customer service standards and operational procedures to ensure a high-quality experience for all.
- Foster a strong sense of community and belonging within the group fitness environment, ensuring that both staff and participants feel connected, supported, and motivated to return.
- Invest in our people by providing ongoing training, mentoring, and support to enhance the skills and confidence of those delivering group fitness programmes.

**About you | Ko Koe Tēnei**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- A relevant Fitness (Group) qualification (Level 5 Certificate or equivalent)
- Have minimum of 5 years practical experience in the (Group) Fitness industry including 2 years' leadership experience in the fitness, sporting or recreation industry.
- Have experience in project management including coordinating multiple projects or events simultaneously.
- You will need to collaborate effectively within the team and foster a culture of unity across the facility. This will be crucial in ensuring the facility operates efficiently.
- Strong relationship management skills with a keen eye for accuracy, attention to detail, and effective time management.

Parakiore was a Ngāi Tūāhuriri hero renowned for his resilience, determination and agility.

**Additional Information | Ko ētahi atu kōrero**:

- ** Hours of work**: The role is primarily Monday to Friday; however, as part of a seven-day operation, you may be required to work outside these hours as needed.
- ** Position**:Full-time, permanent.
- ** Location**: This role will be based at Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre, 26 St Asaph Street. However, during the establishment phase, you will work from Te Hononga Civic Offices, 53 Hereford Street, and across our network of facilities.
