This nurse coordinator role is being newly established as the Consultation Liaison team enters a period of service development and expansion. This role coordinates systems, people and resources to ensure service delivery is effective and efficient. There is also a clinical component including patient facing mental health care in the Waikato Hospital setting. The nurse coordinator reports to the charge nurse manager.

The Consultation Liaison (CL) psychiatry team is a specialist team of mental health medical and nursing staff with a high level of clinical expertise, providing a consultation liaison service to general Hospital patients and medical staff.

**Mōu | About you**

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Experienced mental health nurse with a good understanding of medical co-morbidities
- Good understanding of the Mental Health Act. Previous or current experience as a Duly Authorised Officer would be beneficial
- Well developed mental health and risk assessment skills, the ability to plan and deliver patient care within a nursing framework
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within the consult liaison team, wider mental health service, Hospital service and community service
- Providing education to colleagues is part of this role, so experience with teaching and sharing knowledge, would be an asset
- Proficient verbal and written communication, including computer literacy is essential
