Wintec is one of NZ’s largest Institutes of Technology providing quality education and training in the Waikato. Our Centre for Health and Social Practice delivers health professional programs in nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, counseling, social work and primary health care.

If you value working collaboratively and have the expertise and experience to support midwifery ākonga, we are keen to hear from you.

**About the role**

We are looking for a Te Ara Ō Hine-Tapu Ora Liasion to join our dynamic team for Te Kuratini o Waikato Bachelor of Midwifery programme. We have a commitment to excellence in our teaching and support of midwifery ākonga. We are interested in hearing from people with a strong desire to support and work towards equitable outcomes for Māori and Pacific ākonga and mana-enhancing Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnerships.

This is your opportunity to positively impact on the midwifery journey for ākonga and help to grow our future workforce.

You will liaise with and support the provision of pastoral and academic support to Māori and Pacific ākonga within the School of Midwifery. You will work alongside kaiako and kaimahi and contribute to Wintec’s Māori and Pacific achievement strategic priority by supporting students and staff within the School of Midwifery.

The Te Ara Ō Hine Tapu Ora liaison role is funded through the The Te Ara Ō Hine Tapu Ora project. This is fully funded by the Ministry of Health to address inequities of midwives and midwifery ākonga that exist for Māori and Pasifika. The liaison role provides pastoral support and additional academic support alongside kaiako where needed. Whilst employed by WINTEC is important to be clear that these roles are fully funded by the Ministry of Health.
