**The Role**

To support the growth of our engineering team and R&D lab, we are now looking for a Junior Lab Technician. This is a very hands-on role where you'll contribute by supporting a wide range of engineers day to day in the lab, building and modifying circuit prototypes as well as keeping the lab stocked with the right components and consumables. You'll also wire up our test racks and jigs in a safe and tidy manner and help maintain our test equipment. With mentoring from our experienced lab technician as well as the wider hardware team, you'll be able to further grow your skills in this role.

Some of the things that you might be involved in include:

- Inventory and purchasing of lab consumables
- Soldering assistance and reworking of prototypes
- Commission and wiring new test set-ups and test equipment
- Assisting our Lab Technician with repairing faulty lab equipment
- Helping to plan the inevitable expansion of our lab
- Assisting with the collection and delivery of parts and products to our manufacturer

**About You**

We think you’ll be a fit for this role if you have/are:

- A tertiary qualification in Electronics, e.g. Certificate of Engineering or similar
- Approximately 2 years (or more) experience in an electrical role in engineering
- Demonstrable skills in electrical wiring, electronics and SMT soldering
- Ability to develop and run Python scripts
- Diligence in capturing outcomes and preparing documentation sufficient for the purpose
- Familiarity with electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and methods of testing systems in an electrical lab
- A full driver's license and access to a personal vehicle (you will be reimbursed for fuel)
