We have a Brand New permanent Payroll Manager role with a phenomenal organization - consistently recognized as one of the best employers in New Zealand.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

- Managing a high quality day-to-day operation of payroll systems and processes, providing accurate and timely payroll services for all employees whilst meeting business and legislative requirements
- Managing the day-to-day performance of the payroll team to ensure the team have a full understanding of legislation and payroll functions. You will ensure your team is fully trained, highly motivated and performing to the highest level of effectiveness.
- Managing the ongoing development of the payroll function, including process improvement and service enhancement, working collaboratively on design and implementation in particular with the SAP team.

The expectation of you in this role, is that you will be able to:

- Support, organize and prioritize fortnightly payrolls, and plan payroll requirements in advance.
- Understand and cast a critical eye across Holidays Act any any other NZ Payroll legislation
- Identify data discrepancies
- Prioritize any pay run issues and ensure resolution to meet fortnightly pay run deadlines
- Manage annual upload processes (such as remuneration increases, concessions etc), ensuring complete accuracy.
- Conduct month, half year and year-end processes in collaboration with the Finance team
- Prepare standard/manual pay runs and ensure calculations, allowances and deductions are correct and in accordance with employment agreements and appropriate legal requirements
- Prepare and post General Ledger entries after each pay run ensuring accuracy. Maintain GL mapping and perform updates as required.
- Maintain employee master data records and ensure integrity of the payroll systems data by identifying data discrepancies and pursuing resolutions.

This is a hands-on leadership role that will see you take ownership of Payroll operations.
