**About the role**
As a Senior ER Advisor at MBIE you provide support to our People and Culture team and the business within the Employment Relations (ER) domain, delivering high quality and pragmatic advice, insights, working on ER cases and projects, policy and guidance to create people-centred, sustainable, and constructive outcomes aligned to MBIE’s People Strategy.

You will enjoy collaborating with others and quickly establish and maintain effective working relationships across the People and Culture branch, internal stakeholders and our union officials and delegates. Not only will you support and lead work that is challenging, interesting and varied you will also have a real opportunity make a difference and develop your ideas in significant and impactful employment relations initiatives and further develop your career within MBIE.

To be successful in this role you will need to have strong prior experience and be up-to-date with legislation and employment relations best practice in New Zealand.

**Skills and Experience**
You will bring to this role deep experience within the employment relations environment or as a HR generalist. You will also have the following:

- Strong background and experience with ER cases (including settlements and mediation) in Public Sector agencies or in large and diverse employee relations environments
- A collaborative approach to work in a team of specialists and across the wider People and Culture branch
- Aconfident communicator with sophisticated influencing skills
- A pragmatic style that is people
- centred with a sound customer service ethos
