The Nurse Practitioner - Intern is an exciting
opportunity for a nurse on the pathway to nurse practitioner working within and across Te
Whatu Ora (Nelson Marlborough) mental health and addiction services. This role
requires a nurse practitioner with experience in disability, behaviour
management, complex mental health and addiction diagnosis and ideally
experience in both inpatient and outpatient environments. The role has a focus on
working collaboratively with services to ensure people with complex needs are
well supported to access the support they need in a timely and supported way,
which will prevent hospital admissions and facilitate timely and appropriate
discharge into the community.

If you are a skilled and committed nurse
practitioner with expert knowledge and skills and a passion for serving people
and whanau who present with complex and multiple underlying conditions - this
could be the position for you. You will have NCNZ registration as a nurse
practitioner or working towards this endorsed by the training program, a current practising certificate and a full driver's licence. You
will be flexible, dynamic, understand the complex interface between disability,
mental health and addictions, primary and secondary care, and be willing and
able to develop the nurse practitioner service in to better service people and
whanau with complex needs. Your leadership skills will be well honed and you
will be keen to support and mentor registered nurses undertaking their prescribing
education.
