and whānau In Nelson Tasman, Adult Community Mental Health &
Addiction Services are delivered by an established multi-disciplinary team
based at Nelson Hospital. This team delivers a comprehensive clinical resource
to adults affected by acute or enduring severe mental illness.

this position)
This
is a rewarding role that will facilitate access to services for adults in the
community who have offended, and are affected by mental health or addiction
issues. It will sit with the Nelson
Addiction Service, while providing triaging, assessments and liaison within the
justice system. The role will provide
networking and facilitate engagement with the justice and mental health &
addiction services.
Our usual hours of work are between 8.00AM and 5.00PM, Monday to Friday. This position could be worked across 3 days a week.

appropriate applicant?)
The
skills and be able to provide assessments and referrals to services. They
will ensure the mental health needs of people involved in the criminal justice
system are attended to. They will be a NZ registered nurse with experience working with
adults, and they will be conversant with current research relating to mental
health, addiction and offending.
Whilst we are looking
for experienced practitioners we recruit primarily for attitude. You will need
to fit into a cohesive team culture of
collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across disciplines and
will engender confidence, trust and rapport with clients, their support
networks and other agencies and service providers.
Te Whatu Ora staff must have completed their primary course of two NZ
approved COVID-19 vaccinations as they have direct contact with patients and
members of the public.

You will have a
passion for working with people in the justice system, liaising with Court
staff and the Mental Health & Addiction Services. You will be providing information and
networking across the different services, allowing for robust treatment and support.
This is an
important liaison role working across the justice system and mental health
& addiction services providing liaison and collaboration.
