The Procurement team at the Christchurch City Council operates as an integral part of Corporate Services acting as a shared service provider and enabler to the Council's business units.

**About the role | Ko te mahi nei**

This position works within the Procurement and Contracts Infrastructure team, to:

- Assist Team members to deliver procurement projects from project initiation to contract award and handover in accordance with agreed plans and timeframes.
- Providing operational guidance to others in relation to Council's procurement processes and procedures and being a role model for procurement best practice.
- Being knowledgeable in, promoting and performing in alignment with Council's policies, strategies, business plans, processes and procedures
- Developing and maintaining healthy, collaborative and effective relationships with Council's business units and suppliers.

Criteria: Key skills, experience and knowledge (based on recent market availability) includes:

- Experience in procurement or related experience, ideally within a medium to large organisation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good analytical skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Knowledge of procurement disciplines and methodology
- Training/Education in Procurement, Project Management, Commerce, Business, Finance or Law
