Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne. We serve a population of approximately 259,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki. Te Whatu Ora Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is one of the Bay of Plenty's largest employers with over 4000 staff.

**He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role**

This demanding and challenging role is to provide administration support to Maternity Department and administration staff within this service and within the scheduling team.

This is a permanent full-time role, working 80 hours per fortnight across Monday to Friday based at Whakatāne Hospital.

This role includes but is not limited to booking patients for antenatal visits, outpatient clinics, and reception work on the Maternity ward and general administration tasks. You will be required to provide high quality customer services responding effectively to general enquires and to maintain good relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff and most importantly, patients.

The successful applicant must be a proven team player with a ‘can do' attitude, a willingness to work innovatively and find solutions, alongside the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and clinical staff.

You will need to have well developed computer skills and practice excellent time management. Your friendly disposition, responsiveness and personal commitment to professional excellence will ensure you can deliver the great service that is important to success in this role.

As being part of a team it is necessary for each team member to understand your colleagues core role and functions to ensure the team can cover for each other with planned and unplanned leave.

A working knowledge within a hospital environment and patient management system would be desirable but full training will be provided.
