Working at the Ministry for Ethnic Communities, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of Ethnic Communities for the benefit of New Zealand.
This is not your typical Senior Advisor role. This role is about influencing system change where there are specific needs or opportunities for Ethnic Communities.
- Would you thrive on collaborating with various agencies to influence policy design and service delivery, and improve intercultural capability?
- Are you excited about supporting the development of tools and resources to lift system capability?
- Do you enjoy working across a range of areas, proactively identifying problems and opportunities and designing creative and innovative solutions?
If yes, then we need you.
To be successful in this role you will need experience and skills in:
- maintaining a strategic overview of government objectives and global trends
- building and leveraging great networks, and good engagement and influencing skills
- communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- being agile, innovative, and responsive to changes in priorities
- conducting fit-for-purpose analysis, synthesising information from various sources, and using expert knowledge and sound judgment to draw conclusions and provide advice, often within short timeframes.
It would be great, but not essential if you also had a good understanding of economics.
If you want to join a diverse, dedicated and friendly team that does incredibly interesting and important work for Ethnic Communities - then get in touch.
**About us**
The Ministry for Ethnic Communities is the Government's chief advisor on ethnic communities, ethnic diversity, and the inclusion of ethnic communities in wider society. We have four key functions:
- we provide advice to the system
- we develop the evidence base
- we broker conflict and convene stakeholders to resolve issues
- we foster a sense of belonging.**
