We work in the local plant connected to our global manufacturing network to ensure the highest quality of raw materials, intermediates and finished products.

**THE OPPORTUNITY**

Reporting to the QC Manager, you will perform and document tests within the assigned QC Laboratory, monitor assay performance, provide technical support in areas of expertise, plan and co-ordinate own and testing workload and contribute to ensuring the smooth running of their area to meet schedules for release of final and intermediate products.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Test antigen and / or vaccine, to required standards, according to set schedules/timelines
- Planning, conducting, reporting and interpreting routine laboratory assays in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensuring adequate stocks of reagents, test materials and equipment are available to perform tests on time.
- Documenting all tasks in test records, worksheets or logbooks in accordance with Good Documentation Practice
- Peer reviewing work of other team members on procedures in which they are fully trained
- Performing housekeeping tasks and inspections in accordance with SOPs and GLP.
- Maintaining lab equipment in fully operational state of calibration / validation, including performing routine calibrations.
- Monitoring assays for unusual occurrences including preparing and reviewing trends of assay results.
- Authoring or technically reviewing SOPs for procedures
- Authoring and executing test method or equipment qualification protocols and reports
- Providing on-the-job training for other members of the QC team
- Ensure you adhere to all EHS information, policies, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to perform your work in a manner that is safe and without significant risk to health or the environment

**WHAT YOU MUST HAVE**

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Hold a tertiary or equivalent qualification specialising in a science discipline (Chemistry preferred)
- Demonstrate strong (8-10+) number of years of lab experience, ideally most experience in Chemistry
- Experience with basic Chemistry testing such as AAS, UV Vis and titrator methods
- Knowledge and experience in cGMP, GDP and GLP
- Experience with equipment and method validation
- Ability to trouble shoot issues with strong report & SOPs writing skills
- Supervisory &/or people management skills of individuals/team
- Well-developed skills to work autonomously as well as within a team
- Be a proactive, quality focused individual with excellent attention to detail, have good communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to plan, prioritise, multi-task and manage daily workload to meet testing schedules
