**About the role**
As a Forester, you will report directly to the Forestry Manager and collaborate with a dedicated team of skilled Foresters and Forest Coordinators. This key operational role will require you to work both in the office and on-site in the field. You will play a pivotal role in managing forest contractors who are responsible for essential forest management activities. Additionally, you’ll work alongside the team to identify opportunities to integrate technology into our processes and foster a more data-driven approach to decision-making.
Your daily tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance
- Overseeing establishment and silviculture operations, including production thinning
- Managing forest maintenance activities
- Fire prevention activities
- Engaging in public relations efforts
- Ensuring forest security

**About you**
Ideally, you hold a New Zealand Forestry Science Degree, supported by hands-on field experience in forestry operations. You also bring the following skills and attributes:
- Strong planning and organisational abilities, with the capacity to multitask and deliver on commitments
- Proven track record of working independently, meeting deadlines without supervision
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the willingness to work outside of regular business hours when needed
- A methodical, logical approach with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain high energy and composure under pressure
