Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Manager who is passionate about APIs, customer service and technology product growth to join our Data & Digital team and drive the development of our API products while ensuring excellent customer service is maintained throughout the product lifecycle.
You will be responsible for ensuring that heath providers and our partners, when they are interacting with the Te Whatu Ora API Marketplace and have a user-friendly environment that delivers value and easy to consume. By collaborating closely with our partners, you'll gain a deep understanding of their business needs and provide guidance on how to effectively engage with and consume our services.
You'll also play a pivotal role in increasing engagement and awareness of the marketplace, and our services while ensuring that appropriate governance is maintained over the platform. You will also have the opportunity to analyse integration data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven recommendations to optimize integration and engagement.

As an experienced Manager with a Product background, as a product or platform owner with a strong focus on customer service, you will be a valuable addition to our team. Your extensive knowledge of the technology industry will enable you to introduce new and innovative ideas that drive growth and progress, and your customer service focus will ensure that our products and services meet the needs and expectations of the organisation and our partners. Your leadership skills will inspire and motivate your team to work together, and you will have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, ensuring the success of Te Whatu Ora Products.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**:
- A relevant graduate and/or post-graduate qualification
- Seasoned experience in a similar role in a large and complex organisation
- Experience in an ICT leadership role with a background in ICT management including working with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and encourage teams in an environment of change, financial prudence and an increasing level of digital maturity across the organisation
- Proven relationship building skills and well-developed communication skills
- Proven ability in managing suppliers and vendors
- Strong financial management of operational budgets
- Demonstrated intuition and the ability to balance good process with the need to make clear decisions in demanding situations such as. priority service outages
- Demonstrated ability to work under tight timeframes and manage competing priorities while remaining resilient under pressure.
Previous work experience in the health sector or Government would be desirable for success in this role.
