**The BCFNR **South Island** team**

As part of the BCFNR South Island region team, you will be helping us achieve our goal of creating a comprehensive picture of breast cancer incidence, treatment pathways and outcomes in the Canterbury West Coast, South Canterbury, Nelson/Marlborough and Southern Regions. Our goal is to provide a tool that will enable local and nationwide improvements in breast cancer care and elimination of inequalities faced by women in New Zealand.

Our small but dedicated team works with health providers to obtain detailed information on the many factors that influence the breast cancer pathway. The register is a web database where this information is entered and stored in a confidential manner.

Our work is currently funded by the Breast Cancer Foundation New Zealand, and supported by the Christchurch Hospital.

**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

Breast Cancer Foundation National Register based at Christchurch Hospital, is currently looking for a Database Administrator to provide and deliver electronic data capture, coordination and general administrative support.

**This a fixed term contract of 1 year (12 month) from the commencement date.**

The role will provide:

- Exposure to a large multidisciplinary workforce
- Assist in the progress of Breast Cancer treatments and research
- Demonstrable differences for breast cancer patients will be achieved as a result of our work

**Primary objectives of the role**
- Collate and enter breast cancer data
- Carry out audits and data control checks to ensure consistent high quality data
- To facilitate the smooth functioning of the BCFNR Southern region by providing a high standard of data entry support

**Essential**
- Work experience in health-related field
- Data entry skills and keen eye for detail
- Extensive experience using Microsoft Office (particularly excel)
- Strong customer service skills
- Experience in administration and a capable typist
- Innovative and motivated mind-set
- Clear communication skills - written and verbal with the ability to work effectively in a team
- Problem solver with ability to prioritise competing tasks

**Desirable**
- Experience in/related to breast cancer data. (Although full training will be provided)
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Research Practice (GCRP)
- Familiarity with in-house software packages (Inteleviewer, HCS, Eclair )
