**The Service | Ko Te Whare O Southern Services**
Ember’s Southern Services span the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions and include a range of innovative supports tailored to whaiora with high and complex needs across both residential and community settings.
Our Waikato Services deliver community-based individual and clinical support, empowering whaiora to build routines, grow independence, and thrive within their communities. In Rotorua, Toro Mai a Ringa provides intensive, wraparound residential care in partnership with Lakes regions of Health NZ. Rooted in connection, dignity, and recovery, Toro Mai a Ringa supports tāngata whaiora to regain confidence and rebuild their lives.
Together, these services form a responsive, multidisciplinary, and values-driven team committed to walking alongside people on their journey to wellbeing.
**The Role | Nga mahi**
Housing Coordinators are the key point of contact for tenants, landlords, and their support networks. In this role, you’ll walk alongside Ember whaiora, tenants, and support workers from across our services, supporting whaiora to find and sustain housing that works for them. Whether it’s navigating housing systems, coordinating move-ins, or offering practical and emotional support, you’ll be part of a team that supports people to live the lives they choose, and challenges the systems that hold them back.
You’ll also contribute to the smooth running of our services, ensuring maintenance needs in our Ember owned properties are carried out, tenancy systems are up to date, legal requirements are met, and reports are completed accurately and on time. You’ll play a key part in helping Ember meet its responsibilities as a community housing landlord.
**You will have | Nga Pukenga**
- Proven experience in community-based roles within the NGO sector, or within housing, mental health or addiction services is desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships are required
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills are required
- Experience working with with Kāinga Ora and/or MSD, along with knowledge of community housing systems and the Residential Tenancies Act is highly desirable
- Full NZ Driver’s Licence is required
- Valid/current work visa, residency, or citizenship is required
- A passion for walking along side those in need, supporting on-going goals on the pathway to recovery is required
