The NZSIS is looking for a motivated front line leader to step into one of its Target Analysis Manager positions and oversee a team of specialist analysts who collect, transform and report intelligence from various sources.
**The role**:
As a Target Analysis Manager, you will be responsible at the operational level for leading and managing a team to ensure the secure, efficient delivery of NZSIS security and intelligence capabilities. Your team works alongside investigative analysts, agent runners, engineers and technical operators within the Intelligence Directorate to support NZSIS Missions. Your people have diverse skills including foreign language and cultural expertise, digital forensics experience, specialist open source research and tradecraft and/or the skills to create, manipulate, query and interpret large and diverse datasets. This role provides the opportunity to oversee NZSIS's work with raw intelligence from exclusive sources, e.g. lawfully intercepted communications (or wiretaps) and seized digital media to provide unique insights to intelligence questions.
**You will be**:
- Hands-on and understand your people's pivotal role in supporting our investigative and operational workloads;
- Responsible for providing leadership and guidance to direct reports, including effective management of their development and performance;
- Expected to effectively represent NZSIS and enhance our reputation in interactions with key stakeholder partner representatives.
**To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate**:
- Leadership and an ability to develop a highly performing team heavily reliant on technology;
- A strong customer service ethic with proven experience in building and maintaining positive and productive work relationships;
- Judgement, critical thinking and interpersonal skills to understand, prioritise and communicate delivery against business requirements;
- Astute decision making skills, including the ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure, even without full information.
