We have an opening for an experienced DBA to join our team - including Database Design, Development, Deployment, Operations, Performance Tuning, Upgrading, Patching, Security and Operational Compliance. As an experienced DBA, you'll have the opportunity to engage across the full range of database activities OnPrem and soon to be in the Cloud. We do it all **About you**: We'll value your proven initiative, problem solving abilities and leadership skills as we look for every engineer to lead from their position. We advocate agile, fully cross functional teams which will take you through all facets of engineering in any given day. We are looking for a mix of technical skills, including: Ideally, you'll have a deep understanding of RDBMS concepts and technologies, supported by SQL Server database administration and development skills. You love the challenges of working in an enterprise environment, with a key focus on database reliability, optimization, and security. We're looking for the following experience: - Proficient experience with Microsoft SQL Server. - Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle. - Manage and monitor the performance, capacity and security of database systems. - Analyse solutions and implement database best practices for high availability clusters - Working knowledge of relational database internals (locking, consistency, serialization, recovery paths) - Working knowledge of at least one scripting language (PowerShell, Python, Perl) and a procedural language for at least one database (PL/SQL, T-SQL etc.). - Systems engineering experience, including Windows/Linux performance, memory management, I/O tuning, configuration, security, networking, clusters, and troubleshooting. - Mentor database administrators to manage the company databases effectively. **In addition, the following would be an advantage**: - Experience with monitoring tools such as Elasticsearch (ELK) - Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef. - Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines - Any experience with Azure is beneficial. - Passionate about learning with a growth mindset. **What's in it for you**: We offer a competitive salary, great banking benefits, heaps of personal and career development opportunities, flexible working styles (Hybrid - WFH/WFO), and parental benefits. **If we've nailed our pitch and this role sounds like it might be the one for you then please click "apply"we'd love to hear from you** **Job details**: - Reference # - AM160735 - Posted on - 10 Jun 2025 - Location(s) - Auckland - Expertise - Data, IT (Other), IT Infrastructure - Work type(s) - Full Time - database specialist pd - 2018 (1).docx Application closes on 24 Jun 2025 23:59
