Mary Potter Hospice has a wonderful opportunity for someone either with palliative care experience or who wants to grow specialist skills in palliative care and is passionate about making a difference. Working in this environment can be extremely rewarding supporting people in your community at the most important and vulnerable time of their lives.
We are recruiting for an experienced and compassionate person with clinical experience to join our Porirua team. The skills and dedication of our people make a vital difference to people in the last year of their lives and their whānau.
The role
This role delivers and coordinates specialist palliative care services for patients and their whānau in the Porirua region. You will be a member of a skilled multi-disciplinary team and also work with our healthcare partners delivering quality care.
All about you
- Recognised as having skills in palliative care/end of life care or oncology or transferable skills from other fields of healthcare
- You will have a postgraduate qualification (or equivalent) in palliative care (or willingness to work towards)
- Two years post registration palliative care experience is preferable but we will provide training and support for the right person interested in developing their skills
- Flexibility, sound time management skills and an understanding of and commitment to the multidisciplinary team approach to patient care are essential.
