About us
About the Role
The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is an expert in Palliative Care and Professional Development. This is an important new role that will identify education needs, ensure professional development in response to those identified needs and role model best practice in palliative care across the service to the Inpatient unit and Community teams.
This role also supports the palliative care education needs for the Aged Residential Care Facilities and there is some opportunity to support Primary Healthcare Providers. We have a strong education programme delivered internally and externally and this role will play an integral part in developing and delivering education in all aspects of palliative care.
About you
We need you to have a strong understanding of teaching and learning principles and practices, using your project management skills to ensure efficient management of education events. You will also have the ability to work at a level of advanced practice in palliative care with strong assessment, critical thinking and triage skills. You need to be registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current practicing certificate. You will have sound knowledge of Community Health Services, Primary Care and Aged Residential Care. Your communication, presentation and documentation skills will be awesome and you will need a post graduate qualification in nursing preferably including papers with an emphasis in palliative care and/or education.
