Technician - Asset Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity to become part of this high performing team in Hastings as an Asset Engineering Technician. Reporting to the Asset Manager, this role is key in supporting the planning, operational management and delivery of the forward works programme of renewals, determining effective maintenance programmes and contributing to the strategies that drive them. **About the role**: As the Asset Engineering Technician, you will provide support to both the Asset Engineer and the Asset Information Manager in delivering technical asset management services, enhancing our services to our clients and supporting contract operations teams. The Asset Engineering Technician will be well supported by an experienced team who work across various contracts. The Asset Engineering Technician will ensure that engineering processes and deliverables that are related to infrastructure asset management are carried out to the required company (Integrated Maintenance Management System) and contract standards, as well as to analyse and manage asset information data, assist with the setup of hardware and software systems used in the collection of asset data, assist with the training of field staff. You will find yourself performing tasks such as: - Supporting the processes associated with the provision of data and condition collection including inspiring a team of inspectors - Asset Inventory/database management and oversight of data quality - Provide data analysis, initial treatment selection and input into the development of the forward works programmes - Work with operational staff to ensure maintenance intervention strategies are followed and decisions are made with a "best for network" approach - Support in the training and developing the supplier team in the use of asset management processes and tools - Involvement in the development & management of maintenance programmes of works - Assisting the Asset Engineer and Asset Information Manager in information collection and analysis. - Carry out targeted inspections and audits to provide assurance of asset condition and completion of works. In return we offer full training and support, a collaborative working environment, a competitive remuneration package and the opportunity to develop your career This position will be both challenging and rewarding. **What we are looking for**: - Desirable to hold or to be working towards a tertiary Engineering or Information Technology qualification (or equivalent) - Proven industry experience and knowledge but some experience in advanced asset management will be advantageous - Desirable to have some experience and skills in asset management and/or data management software and the ability to understand and translate large amounts of data to usable information - as a minimum proven experience in Microsoft Excel and/or Access. - The ability to follow set processes and instructions with a high attention to detail. - Superior communication skills and ability to effectively communicate complex technical issues in a clear and rigorous manner to maximize impact - Passion, drive and enthusiasm and highly self-motivated to drive business results - Sound commercial understanding and acumen - Ability to conduct some travel **Our workplaces are drug and alcohol free - all successful applicants will be required to undertake a pre-employment drug test and medical.
