The Role
We are seeking an experienced Workplace Health and Safety Advisor who will be responsible for ensuring our clients' worksite is compliant with federal and state health and safety legislation requirements, minimising safety risks within the workplace. You will be responsible for developing and implementing site safety plans, initiatives, and safety strategies to minimise any potential safety risks.
Additionally, you will coordinate Return to Work programs for employees, and co-ordinate various aspects of HR such as preparing and issuing employment documentation including new starter packs, employment agreements, inductions, and employee handbooks.
This rewarding position will require you to be flexible with travel to and from the Auckland and Whangārei sites, you will be required to complete multiple work days at both locations.

**This includes the following responsibilities**:

- Conduct Toolbox Talks with the teams to educate employees on the importance of safety in the workplace
- Identify potential areas of compliance risk and implementing correct actions as required
- Coordinate and facilitate health and safety training programs
- Drive a culture of care and accountability
- Manage and conduct safety related investigations and facilitate risk assessments
- Ensure accurate and timely data collection of all safety related information, whilst monitoring for effective close out of corrective actions
- Ensure effective WHS communication and consultation practices are implemented to drive employee safety and awareness
- Manage continuous review of risk assessment for our equipment, activities, and tasks

**What we are looking for**:

- Proven experience in WHS in construction, or related industries
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Confident speaker with the ability to run workshops and talks with a wide variety of employees
- An in depth understanding of Work Health and Safety and Return to Work legislation
- Proven experience in scoping & facilitating risk assessments, safety audits and safety investigations
- Proactive prevention mindset
- Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
- Some generalist HR experience would be highly advantageous
