Health and Safety Advisor

At Radius Care, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe and supported, especially those who care for others. We’re looking for a knowledgeable and proactive **Health and Safety Advisor**to help us champion a culture of safety across our 24 care facilities.

As our Health and Safety Advisor, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our people and residents are protected through robust systems, practical advice, and a strong safety-first culture. You’ll work closely with facility teams, Health and Safety Representatives, and the Compliance and Risk Manager to lead initiatives that reduce risk, ensure compliance, and empower our teams to work safely and confidently.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Provide expert Health and Safety advice across all Radius Care facilities.
- Ensure compliance with NZ Health and Safety legislation and best practice.
- Support incident investigations using root cause analysis techniques.
- Develop and implement Health and Safety policies, procedures, and training.
- Conduct risk assessments, audits and inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Lead the development and coaching of Health and Safety Representatives.
- Support emergency management planning and training across all sites.
- Promote a positive, proactive Health and Safety culture through communication and engagement.

**What you'll bring**:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Health and Safety role, ideally in healthcare or a similar high-risk environment.
- Strong knowledge of New Zealand Health and Safety legislation and risk management principles.
- Proven experience in developing policies and conducting incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging safety training programs.
- Excellent communication and business writing skills.
- A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset and a passion for continuous improvement
- A tertiary qualification in Health and Safety, Business or a related field (preferred).
- Confidence and professionalism in working with both internal and external stakeholders
