Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
In this role you will be responsible for supporting a small, passionate, highly influential and connected team to develop arrangements, guidance and doctrine at the national and regional levels to build recovery management arrangements and practice to support communities during and following emergencies.
The position sits within the Risk and Recovery Unit that is responsible for leading the development of hazard risk management and recovery policy and practice, including the development of strategic national frameworks and best practice guidance. The unit also coordinates science and technical advice on hazard risk management, and coordinates central government recovery activities during and following emergencies.
As part of working within NEMA, there may be a requirement to respond to emergency activations in the event of a national emergency response. This may involve responding to events outside of normal working hours if an emergency response of national significance occurs.

Ko wai koe | About you

Understanding of recovery, emergency management or a related area's theory and practice
Experience in persuading, influencing, building and maintaining effective collaborative relationships, particularly across government agencies

Able to manage without authority and ensure work gets completed effectively and on time
Flexibility of thinking, able to adapt in constantly changing circumstances
An ability to deliver high quality work output under pressure

The salary band for this position is $103,898 to $122, 223 including Kiwisaver employer contributions.
