The Ministry for Ethnic Communities is the Government's chief advisor on ethnic communities, ethnic diversity and the inclusion of ethnic communities in wider society.
We work with communities, other Government agencies and a range of organisations to help and ensure Aotearoa is a place where everyone feels welcome, valued and empowered to be themselves.
The Senior Engagement and Partnerships Advisors are the Ministry's diversity experts and on the ground community engagement specialists. The Senior Advisors play a lead role in implementing our organisational strategy through impactful community engagement, whilst also remaining nimble in response to national and global events that affect ethnic communities. Senior Advisors feed community insights into policy development and service delivery, and also advise other Government agencies on the best way to engage with ethnic communities themselves. They also support the Minister and senior leaders to deliver high quality events such as ethnic community celebrations and conferences.
You will be responsible for the planning and delivery of community engagement and advice; strategic relationship management; informing, advising and consulting on Policy and Services; and event management.
**We are looking for people who**:
- understand the value of ethnic diversity in Aotearoa;
- are experienced in community engagement or community relationship management, with an empathetic approach;
- have a sound understanding of government structures and processes, the development of high-quality advice for decision makers, and risk management;
- have excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
- can operate effectively as part of a geographically distant team.
If you care about ethnic communities and share our passion for improving the inclusion of ethnic communities in wider society, there is a rewarding career waiting for you at the Ministry for Ethnic Communities.
We are an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion. We recognise a diverse workforce contributes to better business outcomes. We are committed to creating a workplace where all employees have equal access.
