**Tēnei tūranga - About the role**:
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable expert to join our Finance Operations team. This position provides 2IC to the Manager, Finance Operations and is expected to provide sound technical finance operations advice. You will be responsible for leading MBIE’s payment processes, oversight of key operational processes and capability development within the team along with management of relationships with our key service providers.

You will work closely with the Finance Operations leaders to build a high-performing team:

- Oversee timely and accurate execution of payment runs across multiple ledgers, and the loading of manual payments/transfers via the banking system.
- Work closely with the wider Finance Operations team to ensure all suppliers are paid on time and correctly.
- Responsible for change management in the Finance Operations space.

In addition you will need to be able to lead fast-paced change and display resilience in an evolving financial environment.

Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and experience required:

- Strong experience in undertaking accounts processing in a medium to large size organisation.
- Proven history of successful leadership skills.
- Previous experience in accounts payable processes within a large and complex organisation.
- Strong problem analysis skills and sound judgement.
- Excellent eye for detail and accuracy.
- Experience in the government sector and or a constantly evolving environment.
- Experience with Connected Intelligence Anywhere (Ci A) FMIS package is desirable, though not essential.
- At least five years’ experience in a leadership position or senior role within a finance operations environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences.
- Experience with continuous improvement.
- Must have legal right to live and work in NZ.
