**Recreation Assistant | Ōtara Pool and Leisure Centre**

Situated in our Ōtara Pool and Leisure Centre as a Recreation Assistant no two days will be the same You’ll help us deliver an exciting range of recreational activities.

You will be working within a team to help deliver an exciting range of youth and community fitness and Holiday programme. This hands-on role will require you to plan and deliver our Out of School Care (OSCAR) and holiday programme and ensure the highest possible standards of Health and safety standards are met.

You will also assist with delivering exceptional service to our customers and visitors supporting with the delivery of a variety of exciting programmes for children and adults, helping the Centre maintain a caring, fun and safe fitness and leisure environment, providing assistance to Centre management with administration and operational duties; and supporting with Centre recreational activities.

You’ll already be passionate about sports and recreation, and ready to step into a frontline customer service role. It goes without saying that you’ll be responsible when it comes to working with children.

You’ll have a flexible approach and be able to use your initiative to facilitate suitable programmes for kids. An enthusiastic team player, you’ll have a positive attitude and infectious energy, and be committed to providing your customers with an exceptional experience.

Ideally, you’ll hold a First Aid Certificate and have an understanding of health and safety procedures. While previous experience working with children is beneficial, it’s not essential. Importantly, you’ll be committed to maintaining high professionalism in your work.
