**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
We have an important role in supporting the Crown in its relationships with Māori under te Tiriti o Waitangi | the Treaty of Waitangi. The government is committed to improving services and outcomes for Māori and strengthening the Crown's relationships with Māori.
We are responsible for designing community-based systems of care, agreeing health and wellbeing plans, executing those plans, and monitoring outcomes which then feed into the design process.
The Mentally Well team looks after a large complex programme of work across the mental health & addictions continuum across New Zealand. The mentally well teams cover addictions, primary mental health, early years, and high & complex, and workforce development. Within each of these teams, there are individual programmes that each of the Group Managers are supporting within their teams. The Programme Manager, Mentally Well will hold a cross team view of all the various programmes of work within the national system design team, reporting directly to the Director, Mentally Well on monitoring and reporting on progress towards achieving work programme objectives.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā weako | Skills and experience**
- Demonstrated experience in managing a range of competing programme priorities using programme management methodologies.
- Experience driving & delivery of work programmes and project planning to ensure delivery of work on time, and within budget.
- Experience ensuring sound governance of the programme and best practice underpinning priorities and deliverables.
- Demonstrated experience at a leadership level for developing, maintaining, and influencing relationships and partnerships across sectors and organisations including with Māori and Pacific Peoples and groups.
- Demonstrated ability to think conceptually and anticipate the impact of decisions on long-term outcomes and develop/recommend responses in consultation with key stakeholders.

When you join us, you become part of transforming the health system. This is a once in a life-time change, which will touch the lives of everyone in Aotearoa for generations.
Our name, Te Whatu Ora, means ‘the weaving of wellness'. Whatu is the combining of people, resources, organisations, thoughts and actions for the betterment and wellbeing of all. Whatu is also a direct reference to the pupil of the eye, and the vision required of the new entity and system.
We are working towards a system that better meets the complex demands of a growing population, addresses the persistent inequalities experienced by Māori and ensures improved access, experience and outcomes for those traditionally not well served by the system - Māori, Pacific and Disabled People.
**Tō mātou whakahaere ki te tika, te rerekētanga, me te whai wāhi mai | Our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion**
