About the role:
An amazing opportunity for an in-house Property Manager to join our team and be part of our close-knit team of property experts looking after a nationwide portfolio of leased properties for the largest private tertiary education group in New Zealand.
In this role, you will ensure all properties across your portfolio are well maintained, compliant and operate cost-effectively. You will also manage leases, so our campuses have suitable tenure, with rentals, operating expenses, and capex managed cost effectively. In addition, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing any fitout work required, including the scoping for approval and delivery on time / budget
- Managing all leasing work including landlord interaction, rent reviews, outgoings management, lease renewals, new leases, and reinstatements
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance to all relevant property related requirements and rules
- Assist the Campus Managers with reactive maintenance requests and ensure adherence of contractor management policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain trusted and effective relationships with key stakeholders and senior management.
About you:
A strong ability to work independently and in a professional manner is vital, combined with a positive can-do attitude and the ability to maintain effective relationships at all levels. Sound documentation and analytical skills combined with outstanding attention to detail are essential, as is the ability to collaborate, prioritise and work well within a diverse, motivated yet friendly environment.
You will be a natural multi-tasker with the ability to prioritise against competing demands. Undaunted by the prospect of juggling properties alongside projects with fluid timelines, you will be able to react to potential issues with logic and a proactive attitude and ensure that above all else communication with key parties is upheld. - Experience managing a multi - site property portfolio
- Project management experience and capability
- A good knowledge of relevant property legislation
- Degree level qualification in property or equivalent
- Ability to undertake travel across NZ for regular site visits and project related work.
