BNZ is embarking on an exciting Digital Modernisation programme, and we are looking for an Intermediate API Developers to join our team. As part of BNZ's Digital Modernisation programme, you will play a crucial role in transforming our digital presence and enhancing customer engagement. This role involves developing and implementing modern technology foundations to build market-leading experiences. You will collaborate with various teams and stakeholders, to deliver connected and unified experiences across digital channels. What are some of the responsibilities of this role? - Lead Development Efforts: Design and build robust, scalable solutions, often working on complex or high-impact components. - Shape Technical Direction: Influence architectural decisions, patterns, and long-term technical strategies. - Mentor and Support: Coach junior and intermediate developers, providing guidance through code reviews, pair programming, and feedback. - Drive Operational Excellence: Champion practices that improve reliability, performance, and deployment efficiency. - Provide Production Support: Lead by example in participating in the product support and on-call roster, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and root causes are addressed. - Maintain Technical Documentation: Ensure system-level and architectural documentation is accurate, up to date, and accessible to relevant stakeholders. - Foster Innovation: Identify opportunities for technical or process improvement and help lead their implementation. What is the team culture and environment like? Collaborative, supportive, productive - Work on creating and integrating with micro services. - Support other key initiatives in the Domain (eg: Digital Modernisation). - Feed improvements into BNZs practices and standards where appropriate. You will also have the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities. What specific skills and experience would be beneficial for this role? This is an opportunity for individuals skilled in backend development, with a proven ability to contribute in a collaborative team environment.
