Z's Communication Team supports the entire business by protecting and promoting our reputation, talking to media and Government, leading how we communicate internally. One of our team is off on their parental leave journey and we are excited to welcome a **Communications Advisor / Kaitohutohu Whakakakau **on a nine-month contract initially with the potential to extend.
In this role you will work across a range of communications activities, supporting the broader Corporate Communications team with media and government relations and supporting our core relationships with external service providers, including content creation agencies and paid partnerships to help identify, facilitate and build a pipeline of stories demonstrating Z’s Stands and our commitment to a low carbon future for Aotearoa New Zealand.
You will also help maintain our digital communication channels, including Z’s Intranet and responding to our customers via our range of social media channels.
This role is broad, dynamic and great way to build on your existing Communications career within a commercial and diverse organisation. We would love to hear from you if you have some solid core skills, a great attitude, the flexibility to work across a range of activities and a desire for a new challenge
**You will have the opportunity to**
- Supporting the Comms team with key external relationships
- Assisting with identifying potential stories across the business, administrating collation of stories through to publication, building pipeline of stories and arranging interviews
- Media subscriptions management including news feed partnerships such as NBR to ensure staff access, services and support
- Key liaison with Telnet (Z’s contact centre) briefing notes for product launches, product issues and any industry watch points
- Assistance for customer complaint review/resolution in line with normal business operations
- Supporting Z’s Social Media team for customer response where needed

**Qualifications**

**What you’ll bring to Z**
- 3+ years in a communication or journalism based position
- Exposure to intranet/website content creation
- Experience with social media in a communications capacity
- Excellent written communication and editing skills
- A high level of organisation, juggling priorities, stakeholders and working to deadlines
- Relationship building skills
- Able to review and summarise information to make recommendations
- Experience within a commercial preferred
