**The opportunity | Te kāinga rua**

As a team leader, you will be supported by a group of leaders in the Digital Services team who are responsible for driving our digital business forward. You will work closely with another GIS team leader in the Auckland region to inspire and lead the Auckland based GIS team of 14. Each day will be varied with new opportunities, and overall, this role will see you;
- Providing coaching and mentoring alongside day-to-day leadership and people management
- Provide GIS technical direction and leadership on projects across our infrastructure business
- Assign resources and develop plans for the delivery of our projects
- Network, develop and grow relationships with clients in the infrastructure domain
- Be passionate about learning and develop and mentor others to grow fulfilling careers

This role will allow you to leverage your data, spatial analytics, software and consulting skills in a real-world setting, helping with the delivery of current Beca digital projects both in New Zealand and globally. You will enjoy being the person who others come to for guidance and advice, with the ability to build out a clients’ understanding of how a geospatial approach can add value to a project.

Our GIS roles are varied, dynamic and rewarding. You will be working with a motivated team of GIS experts, digital consultants as well as with Software Developers and Engineers that combine engineering ‘know how’ with enabling software and technologies.

You will be a go-to person who makes things happen, across the latest technology and software, working primarily in the geospatial domain but with linkages to other digital and data analytics solutions.

You love to learn and share knowledge. You are someone who can bring a fresh perspective to ensure the development of the people around them and who constantly seeks better practice for the overall quality of our work and our client experience. You are an experienced GIS consultant who is passionate about the opportunity to grow others, motivated by being in a leadership role and who enjoys sharing your colleagues' successes and delivering excellence.
- Experience in GIS Consulting across data management, project methodology development, project delivery and end customer user insight management (including presentation of insight from GIS data)
- A background in leading and inspiring a team including experience in objective setting, pastoral care, mentoring and providing regular feedback to get the most out of our talented people
- Ability to scope, consult and understand geospatial data sources and methods, and problem solve to deliver insight for clients using spatial tools and techniques
- A network of connections in the GIS industry with the ability to connect with clients, build lasting client relationships and lead technology-based discussions
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build meaningful and collaborative relationships across various levels of a business
