We're seeking a dynamic and community-focused individual to join our team as a Community Activator. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with local residents, community groups, and stakeholders to design and deliver initiatives that promote social cohesion, community engagement, and positive change.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement community development projects that address local needs and priorities
- Build and maintain relationships with community groups, organizations, and stakeholders
- Facilitate community engagement and participation in planning and decision-making processes
- Provide training and capacity-building support to community groups and volunteers
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support community initiatives
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver effective community programs
- Monitor and evaluate project outcomes and impacts

**To be successful in this role, you'll be someone who has**:

- Proven experience in community development, community engagement, or a related field
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g., community development, social work, public health)
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Knowledge of the Whanganui community and its dynamics (desirable)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities
