An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Lower Waikato Operations team. We are seeking someone with a passion for excellence and innovation to be appointed to the role of Works Supervisor - Capital Projects. This role is based at our Horotiu (Northgate) depot primarily working in the Lower Waikato which stretches from Hamilton through to Port Waikato. The role reports directly to the Operations Team Leader.
**About the role**:
- The role will primarily be focused on capital works, working closely with other Works Supervisors and the directorate’s environmental compliance, Health and Safety and asset management teams.
- Tasks will include the annual preparation of project scopes, working on project priorities with the scheme supervisors, working alongside the engineering delivery team and then executing the projects through to project close out. The role will help ensure activities are undertaken in accordance with industry standards, environmental and health and safety regulations.
- Peer review wider capital projects occurring within the lower Waikato Zone
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- A technical engineering qualification (NZCE or BE), equivalent experience or qualification in the field of health and safety, environmental or project management is essential.
- A minimum of 3 years project management, project scoping, planning and implementation of flood control and drainage management
- To be successful in this role, you will have experience working with the Resource Management Act and Health and Safety in Employment Act. Local government experience including contract and project management is desirable.
