**Our Opportunity**:
Join-us as we work to deliver valuable data products to the Mercury business, all within our modern cloud-based Data Platform.

Reporting to the Data and Analytics Lead, the Data Engineer will play a key role in recognising Mercury's journey to becoming a data-driven organisation. You will bring a strong technical engineering background to the role, which will allow you to work collaboratively with Solution Architects, Data Scientists, Analysts and/or Business Unit Stakeholders to make valuable data products available to the organisation.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Perform a 'hands-on' engineering role, contributing to both the foundations of Mercury's Data Platform and to the 'data' initiatives that are delivered within it
- Build, test, deploy and monitor data pipelines using the Mercury Data Platform technology and processes
- Be comfortable with working in cross-functional delivery squads, specifically with Business Analysts, Analytics Engineers and Solution Architects.
- Work with data source owners and/or SME's to understand the data assets of the organisation, allowing these to be leveraged within Mercury's Data Platform
- Provide mentoring to junior members of Delivery Squads
- Challenge the status quo. Bring your technical know-how and curiosity to the role to help us to drive continuous improvement into everything that we do

**We are looking for**:

- Tertiary or similar qualification in technology
- Relevant experience in a commercial Technology environment with at least 2 of those years within the Data Engineering domain
- Certifications in or exposure to AWS, Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform
- Extensive experience with SQL with exposure to Python and/or PySpark
- Experience in working with a Data Platform technology such as Databricks or Snowflake
- Exposure to Terraform (or similar technologies) would be advantageous
