**Job Description**:
AECOM’s Cost Management practice has a rare opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to join our highly successful team. Based in either Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington or Christchurch, this is a newly created position to support our National Practice Lead and our Regional Team Leaders with the technical delivery of cost estimating on construction projects throughout NZ.
As a senior member of our award-winning Cost Management business, you will be responsible for leading and delivering cost planning and estimating services on some of New Zealand’s largest and most iconic building and infrastructure projects. Specific areas of responsibility will include:
- Maintaining and improving our existing estimating tools and processes (including rates databases, estimating templates, reports, risk modelling, and embodied carbon estimating tools)
- Supporting our regional team leaders and team members through estimating training and estimating support
- Promoting estimating best practice and inputting to our internal ANZ wide technical practice group
- Driving a high-quality preconstruction cost management experience for our clients
This Principal / Associate Director level role will undertake the management of resources, budgets and timelines and enhancing client and working relationships. This role will also assist with business development, leading and preparing proposals and include presentations to clients to win work.
**Qualifications**:
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a solid background in consulting who shares our passion for delivering high quality consulting services to our clients.
- Bachelor of Quantity Surveying or similar
- Member of a recognised professional institute (i.e.: NZIQS, RICS, AIQS, etc.)
- Solid experience working within a consulting environment
- Demonstrated skills in leading and managing project cost estimating and cost planning
- Experience leading a team of professionals and/or project teams
- Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite, Cost X
