The Disability Support Services (DSS) Group works to ensure fair access to disability support services in New Zealand, prioritizing those with the greatest needs. Through the DSS Review Programme, the Group is focused on implementing key recommendations to deliver consistent, equitable services, prioritize high-needs individuals, and strengthen the long-term sustainability of DSS, all while upholding Enabling Good Lives (EGL) principles.

**Te ahua o te turanga / About the role**:
As the Senior Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in contributing to the work of Ministerial and Executive Services within DSS while ensuring high-quality service delivery.

You'll be an important link between our teams to ensure the timely delivery of our Ministerial and Executive Services.

This is a 6 month fixed term role and can be based in either Wellington or Palmerston North.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Ensure timely and quality responses and advice, ensuring accuracy and verification of data.
- Recommend and implement improvements to processes and systems within our Ministerial Executive Services processes.
- Assist with business planning and workflow management.
- Support research and identify trends in issues within the correspondence.
- Assist in preparing reports for Senior Managers and Ministers.

**Nou te rourou | What you bring**:

- Previous experience managing workflow and process improvement.
- Excellent communication skills including strong written skills, prior experience writing ministerial responses is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment in decision-making. Previous experience to identify and respond to issues and risks effectively.
- Experience in managing stakeholder relationships, influencing others, and providing expert advice to Senior Leaders.
- Experience in Ministerial Services or Service Delivery is not essential but would be an advantage.
